About Meep Meep
Who is behind it?
Like most EU citizens, the Meep Meep team values its privacy. We believe more scrutiny should flow towards those in government, not those reporting on it.
We also value our independence, as we are not affiliated with any political party or politician.
Why only cover recent events?
Meep Meep is a new project and we are still expanding our coverage. The current issues only serve as a starting point. We hope this demonstrates the validity of the concept, and helps inform interested citizens. As we add more data, a more nuanced picture will emerge.
Even those who do not agree with our specific platform should find value in our directory of parliament, or the included citations of sources, which shine a light on a very complex system, far removed from our doorstep.
What will you do after the election?
We will add the new members to our database and track the new legislature. Easy.
I'd like to help!
That's great! Meep Meep can crunch the data, but we can always use more eyes on the parliament.
Each MEP profile has links to their online presence. You can follow them on social media, as they often share their activities and concerns. You can also e-mail or call them directly if you have specific issues you'd like them to know about.
If you want to dig into a specific proposal or directive, the starting point is the Legislative Observatory. There you can search by name or reference, see who's responsible, and find links to documents and minutes. For instance, you can read the minutes of the debate on the Copyright Directive.
To see the results of specific votes, visit the European Parliament.
If you have any tips for new issues to cover, please send them our way.
